Our story

It started with one loaf.
I’m Kitty. I started making bread when I was 14, during a really difficult time in my life.
At first, it was just something to do. Flour, water, yeast, salt. Something to focus on, something to make with my hands and, eventually, something to share.
Bread became a huge part of my life. It gave me confidence, purpose, community and a direction I never expected.
But I’ve always thought about how lucky I was to find it.
The idea is simple: I want to give more people the chance to make bread.
I’m working to get breadmaking into schools, prisons and communities, particularly to people who might never otherwise have the opportunity to try it.
Through Kitty’s Kits, free lesson plans, campaigns and hands-on workshops, I want to make getting started as easy as possible. No fancy equipment. No complicated recipes. Just flour, water and a willingness to have a go.
Because making bread can be about much more than what comes out of the oven.
It can be a new skill. Something to feel proud of. A reason to get together. A conversation on a tough day. Or simply the joy of realising: I made that.
Bread was one of the things that helped me find my way.
Now I want to put that opportunity into as many hands as I can.
One classroom, one community and one loaf at a time.

That’s why i started Breaducating Britain
Below is a little video of how Breaducating Britain came to be...
